TCU is the latest college football venue to bring TS Sports’ new outdoor 16mm-SMD product-line to their stadium. The new video displays in Amon G. Carter stadium exceed the industry brightness standards; making TCU’s video displays one of the brightest in all college football. TS Sports is expressly thrilled about the TCU project from both a relationship and geographic standpoint. We are proud to bring Lighthouse LED to this prestigious university.

Texas Christian University (TCU) has been getting a great deal of attention as of late. This Tier 1 University has had a busy year; taking the 2011 Rose Bowl championship, accepting an invitation to join the Big 12 Conference and undertaking a 105 million dollar renovation to update their football stadium.

The bidding process for video board integration at TCU was competitive, however; TS Sports out preformed the competition by offering superior products with longer service warranties at a fair price. BC PLACE, Vancouver BC

TS Sports is proud and honored to be the integrator chosen to engineer, manufacture and install the new LED video displays at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia. BC Place is home to the MLS White Caps, the CFL BC Lions and served as a primary venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics. BC Place unveiled their state-of-the-art, newly renovated arena in September 2011.

TS Sports assimilated 6 major video display systems, manufactured by Lighthouse Technologies, throughout BC Place. The 4-sided, center-hung structure spans 68ft in length, 37.8ft in height and over 32’ in depth. 500ft of 20mm LED field level fascia surrounds the field, and 1800ft of 20mm Lighthouse fascia is affixed to the facade of the arena.

In the center of the arena hangs the second largest center-hung structure in all of North America. BC Place’s center-hung was uniquely engineered to meet the requirements of the retractable ceiling. TS Sports exclusive supplier, Lighthouse Technologies, redesigned their video panels to reduce the weight of each panel allowing our team to create larger displays than originally planned, while still meeting specified weight requirements. In addition to the obstacle of weight management, this 65-ton center-hung board required suspension from BC Place’s retractable roof. Using super structure framing, TS Sports engineers created a solution, making BC Place one of the most unique center-hung projects in the world.

Whitecaps Get a New Video Display With an Old Feel

TS Sports is pleased to announce the award of Fifth Third Bank Stadium, home of the West Michigan Whitecaps. TS Sports will be integrating a 20mm LED video display, a vintage manual scoreboard and a state-of-the-art HELIOS advertising system. The LED video display will be manufactured by TS Sports’ exclusive LED partner Lighthouse Technologies.

“We are very excited to install our cutting-edge video technology for the Whitecaps” said Brent Waldrum, TS Sports Sales Consultant. The Whitecaps will be the first Minor League Baseball team to feature a StarVison HELIOS System. The system is an all in one advertising system complete with a 6mm video display, advertising panel and software system. The system is housed in a weather-proof structure and will greet Whitecaps fans as they enter the stadium.

The 2012 Baseball Season is Looking Bright in Laredo

TS Sports is pleased to announce that Ventura Sports Group (VSG) and the City of Laredo, Texas have selected TS Sports to integrate their LED Displays for their new baseball facility. TS Sports will be integrating a 22’ high x 42’wide 20mm LED video display for the 2012 baseball season. The video displays will be manufactured by TS Sports exclusive LED partner Lighthouse Technology. The project will also feature advertising signage, and a state-of-the-art video control system.

“We are very proud to be partnering with Ventura Sports Group and the City of Laredo on the project.” said Matt Ritter, TS Sports VP. “We have a great relationship with VSG and plan to strengthen our relationship with another successful LED installation.” TS Sports was chosen by Ventura Sports Group in 2009 to install new LED displays at QuikTrip Park, home of the Grand Prairie Airhogs.

Laredo will be another Texas project for Dallas-Based TS Sports. Other notable Texas projects include The American Airlines Center (Mavericks and Stars), Amon G. Carter Stadium (TCU Football), Cedar Park Center (AHL of Dallas Stars), and Resistol Arena (Mesquite Rodeo) among others.

The stadium is set to open in April of 2012.

TS Sports brings StarVision to University of Minnesota

University of Minnesota Courtside LED System

The University of Minnesota has selected TS Sports to integrate a 10mm-SMD video display for Williams Arena. TS Sports will be working with ES&A to integrate a unique LED video system that will sit on the court during University of Minnesota events. The LED display will be manufactured by TS Sports’ exclusive LED partner Lighthouse Technologies.

The 10mm-SMD video display will be 3.13’ high and 33.5’ wide. The display will be mounted to a portable structure for ease of installation and removal. The LED display is designed to be installed and removed before and after multiple events throughout the year.

TS Sports and ES&A have partnered on several collegiate projects over the past few years. “ES&A does a great job working with our products to design a system that meets the needs of our clients” said Matt Ritter, TS Sports VP. Other notable installations for TS Sports and ES&A include Matthew Knight Arena (University of Oregon) and Gampel Pavilion (University of Connecticut), and Michigan Stadium, (University of Michigan) among others.

TS Sports is proud and honored to be the company chosen to bring state-of-the-art, LED video display technology to the largest stadium in the U.S., Michigan Stadium. 111,000 fans will witness the spectacular clarity of 16mm-SMD at every home game. Michigan fans will now have two separate viewpoints, one in each end zone. Each video display stands as tall as a 5-story building and 85’ wide.

“We are excited to partner with TS Sports on state-of-the-art boards at our three biggest venues,” said athletic director Dave Brandon said in a release. “Our goal is to set new trends in the viewing experience for our fans and these boards will be the first step in that goal.”

When your stadiums nickname is the, “Big House” and is the 3^rd largest stadium in the entire world, staying ahead of the technology curve is imperative. Michigan Stadium chose TS Sports 16mm-SMD technology because it is the first of it’s kind. While 16mm-SMD has been used for indoor application, it was not suited for outdoor, based on insufficiency of overall brightness. That was, until TS Sports LED supplier, Cree, engineered a chip that emits optimal brightness by outputting over 6,000 NITS. Thus, exceeding the industry outdoor brightness specifications. Michigan is the 1^st college football stadium to use this technology, setting the bar for all college stadiums.

Jeld-Wen field is the first facility in the country to feature an outdoor 16mm SMD LED display. Standing 20.8’ x 37.8’, this video display provides fans with the highest standards of clarity in the industry. The facility also houses a 3.15’ high LED ribbon display that parallels the sidelines at field level.

Yost Ice Arena is one of three facilities awarded to TS Sports by the University of Michigan. It was the first of the three sports (Hockey, Football, Basketball) to be installed. The center-hung LED video structure is composed of 9 different video displays and will be one of the largest center-hung video boards in college hockey.

Matthew Knight Arena, home to the U of O Ducks athletic programs, features one of the most uniquely designed center-hung boards in the country. Technologically advanced LEDs light up the structural foundation on which the center-hung video boards are mounted. The foundation itself is engineered in the shape of the “O” logo, which represents this Pac12 University. TS Sports furnished the largest center-hung board in college sports at Matthew Knight Arena, standing 32ft high and 36ft in length. The Full center-hung structure weighs 65,000 lbs. Affixed to the structural foundation are four high definition (12ft x 20ft) video boards. The LED video board technology in the arena doesn’t stop there. Matthew Knight also houses a 2.5ft(h) x 550ft (l) LED video ribbon board that wraps around the arena in addition to (10ft x 30ft) video boards in each of the four corners.
